The CLF Ministry to Young Adults
The CYF is the Young Adult Ministry effort of the Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF). CYF members enjoy all of the benefits of full CLF membership in addition to all of the programs, services, and community the CYF has to offer.
If you are an isolated Unitarian Universalist or just someone looking to explore the messages of the Unitarian Universalist Faith but are not between the ages of 18-35, please consider a membership with the Church of the Larger Fellowship: http://clfuu.org.
Denny Davidoff, former UUA Moderator and current Chair of the CLF Board of Trustees had this to say about the newly-formed CYF:
[In the fall of 2004, the Church of the Larger Fellowship] received a proposal from a group of savvy UU young adults, young adult veterans of our -- YOUR -- congregations' RE programs, Coming of Age classes and youth groups asking us to support them as they organized a web-based Church of the Younger Fellowship. They asked us for trust, for commitment, understanding and a willingness to risk. They asked us for money to realize their dream.
The members of my Board, together with Jane Rzepka, our Senior Minister, and Executive Director Lorraine Dennis and her staff talked, e-mailed, and conference called, argued some, and, in rather short order, sucked in our collective breath, opened our collective wallet and said to the young adults: This is needed. This is right. This is where we need to be as a movement...
At our meeting in February, we voted to act. We filled a vacancy on our Board with one of those young adults, and appointed our first official liaison to the nascent Church of the Younger Fellowhip. And then we got out of the way.
